The Peace Building and Conflict Resolution Unit functions primarily as an interface between the Presidential Amnesty Programme and the Ex-Agitators (Delegates).

Responsibilities include resolution of inter/intra camp conflicts, data/financial irregularities, verification of ex-militants and others.

The unit organizes peace building workshops, interactive sessions, and mediation meetings aimed at maintaining working or cordial relationships with Niger Delta stakeholders and delegates.

Officers of the unit are available 24/7 to engage various stakeholders via mobile communication as part of the proactive measures to stay grounded on issues affecting delegates or youth in the Niger Delta.

How the PBCR Unit Operates

  1. The delegate writes officially to the IA.
  2. Upon receipt of correspondence from the HOR,
  • PBCR investigates the claims.
  • If necessary, complainants or camp leaders involved are invited as part of the investigations.
  • PBCR may travel to the Area of Responsibility (AOR) for an on-the-spot assessment of the conflict if there is.
  • PBCR submits its findings.
